Welcome to Swainsboro Elementary School's Physical Education program.  My name is Lara Norton and I am a Health and Physical Education teacher at Swainsboro Elementary.  I enjoy teaching students how to stay healthy and keep their bodies in shape.  During PE we learn many important facts about health and exercise.  We also play lots of fun games!  Make sure you wear your tennis shoes on PE days so that you can join in the games.  Wearing the proper shoes helps you stay safe while have a great time in PE!

In February we plan to participate in Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart through the American Heart Association.  We usually take one week to collect donations and exercise for the Heart Association.  Those wishing to participate will get to enjoy a week of shooting hoops and jumping rope.  We encourage everyone to participate in this fun event.  The American Heart Association helps many people around the world.

This is our 3rd year of participating in the Falcon based “What Moves You” program through our school PE program.  Each day students complete exercises and play high fitness games during their PE time.   We log onto the website to submit our monthly progress reports.  These reports are reviewed by our home team, the Atlanta Falcons.  As a school, we have the opportunity to earn prizes too! Last year we were invited to participate as the Flag Crew at a Falcon’s game!  You may log onto www.WHATMOVESU.com to get involved.

We at SES encourage good, positive sportsmanship when participating in physical education activities.  In order to build character in sports we will spend some time discussing our character education words for each week while acting them out in our fun games.

Start exercising!
